Nicknames: Topher or Christopher; never Chris.
Birthday: June 13th, 1985 (35)
Pronouns/Gender: He/Him
Physical Description:
In another life, Topher would be a model: sparkling dark eyes, a well formed jaw lined with carefully curated stubble, a careful quaff of strawberry blonde hair, broad shoulders that taper to a more slender waist. His skin takes on an olive-y tan, free from blemish (skin care!) or freckle. His wardrobe is bespoke, every garment he owns made to measurement or tailored to his body, usually favoring slacks and collared shirts -- though he for sure is a man that owns a few rugby tees somewhere in the mix.
His energy is curated, tidy, thought out, but it's also aggressively open and friendly. Sure, he has a watch worth a couple grand on his wrist, but that's nothing compared to the enthusiasm of his smile and the sheer physicality of his presence, shaking hands and clapping shoulders and ready to be anyone's friend. He's six feet of ready-for-anything, followed by the distinctive aroma of old money.
Occupation: Investments? Landlord? And, oh yeah, a partner at that one club.
Personality:
There is a certain kind of rich kid whose parents are ready to smooth the way for him. This kid grows up in a big house with everything he wants; goes to the fancy private schools because his parents pay for it, not on his own merit; travels the country on vacations; owns horses, and cars, meets important people. And this rich kid hits a point, in his life, where things can go one of two directions. One option is the one frequently explored in television dramas -- spoiling, money-grubbing, narcissim, a cavalier attitude about consent or the rights of others, a desperate hunger for more, more more.
Here is the other route. A kid raised rich in the heart of London, every one of his needs met. Topher never the smartest, but somehow bright all the same: alive with an enthusiasm for life and a fascination with others, with enough extroverted energy to constantly draw himself into the orbits of others, to learn about them and to share his wealth -- in every way. He went to the private schools, but he made friends with people from all walks of life. His own focus was on rowing, his poor grades soothed over by a generous donation from his parents when needed, but he let friends drag him into whatever they were into, which meant dabbling in art and theater and poetry.
Backstory:
No one ever had real expectations of him, his family money enough that he could simply pursue whatever interested him for whatever length of time it did, palling around with a wide and varied set of friends throughout his early education. More money -- and a legacy, of course -- paved his way into King's College and through a meandering path to a study of classic poetry. During his time there, it was an accident and a chance encounter that saddled him with a crotchety black cat of a friend in his name twin, "Christopher Allen" Kit Marlowe.
After graduation, the pair returned together to the United States, so that Topher could explore. His money funded Kit's projects until a couple months ago, when he fell deep into the rabbit hole of the Colored Palm People, desperate to learn more about them, and the pair of them planned a new business project.
