Chiaroscuro

Participation is what leads to advancement on Chiaroscuro - especially IC participation! As such, we've set up a currency system that rewards posting on the forum, in order to allow players to advance their powers, to unlock special abilities, or to buy items to make their overall experience on the forums more fun! This currency, known on-site as "shards", can also be traded to other users, especially for artistic services, in our Marketplace forum.

Please note that shards can be used to buy art & services, but should never be used to purchase real life items or money from other users!

The following forums grant shards, here on Chiaroscuro:

• Introductions: 10 per topic, 5 per post, with a word count bonus for long posts.
  (Note: this is meant to encourage welcome to new players! If abused, may be adjusted)
• St. Raymond: 10 per topic, 5 per post, with a word count bonus for long posts.
• Minimond: 10 per topic, 5 per post, with a word count bonus for long posts.
• The Empty City: 10 per topic, 5 per post, with a word count bonus for long posts.
• Character Journals: 5 per journal creation.

In order to send Shards to another user, you must buy a Send Shard item from this section of the shop. It can only be purchased as a gift, which can be sent to another user. Upon receipt, they can use the item to be granted the Shards to their account!

Other items can be purchased and sent from one account to another in the same way.

Over time, we will be releasing purchaseable Speciality Items that will allow characters to access special powers and other IC benefits. They will be listed and explained here.
